rules, take em or leave em...

1) sportsdatabase.com lines and grading is used with the applicable % noted right next to the ATS record. while most lines are empty right now it's July freaking 31 so what else to expect? think they line Buffalo/Albany already? :) http://sportsdatabase.com/ncaafb/qu...+team=CMCH+or+team=SALA)&submit=++S+D+Q+L+!++
2) since sportsdatabase.com will grade based on the 5 teams i entered (sobama, utsa, msst, buff, cmu) if shown % is 45.01 or greater, you send me $500. if it is 45.00% or less I send you $500. the sportsdatabase system drops pushes from the % record so 26-32-2 is 44.82% (26/58) so pushes are dropped from consideration. if 45% exactly, such as 27-33, you win. so essentially if there are no pushes so if all games are decided ATS i actually need to now hit 46.67% to win (28-32). like i said, the goalposts already moved
3) no bowls or championship games are included. payment due by Dec 15 either pay-pal or check. i can do either

nothing ez around here....

Yeah, I'll agree to your list if you let me correct my list.

S. Ala (same)
UTSA (same)
Miss St (same)
I mixed up C. Mich and Buffalo for what should have been Kansas and Army.
Kansas
Army

If you don't agree...no harm, no foul.

Season Winners (55%)

If you are satisfied with a 55 plus percentage season winners...I'd take note. It only takes 52.38% winners to beat the spread. Sounds easy but it AIN'T.

If you will play against these five teams every game for the entire season I will almost guarantee you 55% on the season. This system has hit 55 plus the last five years. (Someone mark this post for an end of the season chastising if I'm wrong). If anyone wants to bet me $500 I'm wrong...I'll take the first four challengers.

South Alabama
Central Michigan
UTSA
Buffalo
Mississippi State[/QUOTE

I made a mistake on the five teams I believe will hit 55% or more. I was looking at the wrong folder. The corrected list is:

South Alabama
UTSA
Miss. State
Kansas
Army

Will make same offer with the correct list.

yeah that's fine. i have no dog in the hunt just to have a little something on the side for fun (well, and $500). teams didn't really matter to me other than sobama. prefer not to have kansas just because they're horrible but doesn't mean they can't cover 4 or 5 games for me

we're on

corrected the sdql query to reflect the new 5:
http://sportsdatabase.com/ncaafb/qu...+team=ARMY+or+team=SALA)&submit=++S+D+Q+L+!++

season = 2015 and (team = MSST or team = KAN or team = UTSA or team = ARMY or team = SALA)

Bama vs Lville to open 2018

so got USC in 2016 @Jerryworld, FSU in 2017 @Atlanta, Lville in 2018 @orlando

Alabama and Louisville will open the 2018 season in Orlando's Citrus Bowl, sources told ESPN.
The Crimson Tide and Cardinals have agreed to play Sept. 1, 2018.
Orlando is expected to host a neutral site season opener annually starting in 2016 with Florida State and Ole Miss.
The Louisville-Alabama contest in 2018 continues a long string of neutral site season openers for the Crimson Tide.

SEC - Eight New Defensive Coordinators

The SEC has always been know as a defensive conference. Other than a few fast passed offensives, nothing
has changed to alter that position...other than eight new defensive coordinators for 2015.

Texas A&M - John Chavis
LSU - Kevin Steele
Auburn - Will Muschamp
Florida - Geoff Collins
Missouri - Barry Odom
South Carolina - John Hoke
Mississippi St. - Manny Diaz
Vanderbilt - Derek Mason *head coach taking over DC duties

If You can't beat'em, join'em: After struggling against the LSU defense the past three seasons, Texas A&M
hired former LSU defensive coordinator John Chavis to the same position in the offseason. The Aggies averaged
just 15.3 points a game against the Tigers since joining the SEC in 2012. Chavis led LSU to the No.4 scoring
defense (17.5 points) and No. 9 total defense (316.8 yards) last season. He takes over for Mark Snyder, who's
defense ranked 104th in total yards last season.

Still don't know the root reason for Chavis leaving LSU. Hell of a get for Texas A&M.

Alabama Future Non-Conference Matchups

2015: Wisconsin (Arlington, Tx) MTSU, ULM, Charleston Southern
2016: Southern Cal (Arlington), Western Kentucky, Kent State, Chattanooga
2017: Florida State (Atlanta), Fresno State, Colorado State, ??
2018: Louisville (Orlando), ??, ??, ??
2019: None to date
2020: ?? (Arlington) ??, ??, ??

Lucrative, neutral-site non-conference openers have been a staple of the Nick Saban era at
Alabama. Since Saban took over, Alabama also has played Clemson and Virginia Tech in
Atlanta in 2008 and 2009, respectively; Michigan in Arlington in 2012; and Virginia Tech and
West Virginia in Atlanta in 2013 and 2014. A major factor in scheduling neutral-site games
is the lucrative payout both teams receive, with Alabama set to net a combined $10.5 million
for its participation in the Advocare Classic in Arlington over the next two years.

Current National Champion Tip

Bookmakers will make Ohio State a heavy price for those wanting to wager on the Buckeyes this
season. Public love and added weight of linemakers can offer situations to make money going
against the current national champions. Take a look at one...........

.........Bet against Ohio State off a straight up and against the spread win if they are playing a
non-conference opponent. Former NCs are just 22-48 ATS in this role since 1980.

Tennessee Running Back

The Vols started quite a few underclassmen last season, but not many had as big of an impact
as then freshman tailback Jalen Hurd. The 230 pounder from Henderson, Tennessee, jumped
into the college scene with a combined 1,120 yards of total offense and seven touchdowns. That
included a team high 899 rushing yards with four 100-yard rushing games on the year, the most
by a Tennessee freshman since Jamal Lewis in 1997. A big season from the big bodied sophomore
will certainly go a long way in helping Tennessee become the contender others expect it to be.

Gene Chizik...Remember Him?

Chizik is the old Auburn coach who went 33-19 in his four seasons with the Tigers. He won the national championship in 2010 and then was fired after the 2012 season for going winless in the Southeastern Conference. He received a $7.5 million buyout from the Tigers and has been working as a college football analyst with Sirius radio and ESPN since leaving Auburn. Well, approaching three years after he was fired from Auburn, Chizik is back in coaching as North Carolina's defensive coordinator. He inherits a defense that surrendered more points and yards than any team in program history as UNC opens camp today. Plagued by blown assignments and missed tackles, the Tar Heels (6-7) allowed a school records of 6,472 yards (497.8 ypg) and 507 points (39 per game) last year. The Tar Heels have long talked about winning the typically wide open Coastal Division in the Atlantic Coast Conference. That can't happen unless Chizik and an overhauled staff can get them to make opponents at least pump the brakes. Chizik's head coaching career has been up and down, not the case as a defensive coordinator. North Carolina got themselves a really solid defensive leader who will improve that side of the ball. He's been given total control so let's see how well the defense responds. North Carolina opens against South Carolina on September 3.

Tough-Ass Job...Kansas

Looking at my first post, Kansas is rated just after Texas as having the most difficult schedule in the Big 12. Lord have mercy on the Jayhawks...please! Why bring the Lord into this? Well, it will take some divine intervention for this team to win a game this season. Kansas has won just four conference games (4-48) in the last six seasons.

Enter new head coach David Beaty who is a first time college head coach. He spent the past three season as Texas A&M's receivers coach. Is there a tougher job facing a coach in big boy college football? NO!

Not to mention Kansas is the only team in the Big 12 that doesn't get to play Kansas!

Yeah Kansas City, difficult road for Kansas this season. If they don't win their opener against South Dakota State then its going to be a long, long season. Looks like a one win season to me.

Iron Bowl 2015

Every year, no matter how the rest of the games turn out, there's one that stands head and shoulders above the rest when it comes to importance: the Iron Bowl. The past few years, the annual battle between Alabama and Auburn has meant so much more than just bragging rights, with the Iron Bowl winner advancing to the SEC Championship Game in six of the past seven years...five of those times winning the conference title outright. During that run, Alabama went on to win three National Championships during a four year span from 2009-2012. Of course, the last two times Auburn claimed victory in the Iron Bowl, it also advanced to the national title game, winning it all in 2010 and coming 13 seconds short in 2013. So, it's safe to say stakes are high whenever Alabama and Auburn square off. And 2015 is expected to be no different, with conference media predicting Alabama to win the SEC West but Auburn to take the conference championship in a rare split vote during the annual preseason poll. Given all that's likely to be on the line, this season's Iron Bowl will once again have a lot on the line. Alabama travels to Auburn for the 2015 Iron Bowl.

Did You Know...

Illinois is 9-21 ATS as a favorite against non-conference opponents.
Indiana is a pitiful 19-40 ATS visiting conference opponents.
Kansas (repeat Kansas) is 15-10 ATS at home against non-conference opponents.
Michigan is just 2-9 against non-conference teams on the road.
Rice (repeat Rice) is 43-14 ATS at home playing conference teams.
Texas A&M sucks on the road as a dog against non-conference teams going 1-9 ATS.
UNLV as a conference favorite hammers home at 8-21 ATS.
Virginia Tech as a dog measures well in conference play going 15-6 ATS.
Oregon State chokes game two going 1-11 ATS. (Michigan 2015)
Louisville as a non-conference dog has been money going 13-4 ATS. (Auburn 2015)
Cincinnati playing non-conference is money winning 19-8 ATS last 27.
Alabama at home playing SEC teams just 26-32 ATS.

Just a look....not a prediction.

Jackrabbits are a top 20 FCS program. Took a last minute TD for North Dakota State to beat them in the playoffs. They lose their stud RB Zenner, but even so the line is KU by (-5.5). Damn. Kansas is bad.

Right on RLR...Vegas also knows the public perception of Kansas ain't good so here come the lines.

I have Kansas winning one game but could care less...How they do against an inflated line is what
concerns me.

I have Kansas going 4-8 ATS...just my take/hope.

Nebraska
(DropDimes has a good thread discussion on Nebraska...check it out.)

The transition to new coach Mike Riley's pro-style offense in the spring from the version of the spread the Cornhuskers ran under Pelini for eight seasons was not pretty. Riley inherits a quarterback in Tommy Armstrong with a skill set that does not match what the coach so often had to work with at Oregon State. The challenge will be taking what Armstrong and the Huskers have done well and trying to incorporate some of that into the offense, which is usually built around prototypical pocket passers. Armstrong passed for 2,695 yards last season, though he only completed 53 percent of his passes. Riley wants his quarterbacks to be pushing 70 percent completion rates. In the Huskers' previous offense, Armstrong made significant contributions as a runner rushing for 705 yards last year. Now, designed runs, zone-reads and run-pass options that were the bedrocks of the previous offensive system are not part of Riley's attack. "You can't bail yourself out with your feet. You have to complete passes and be accurate and give your guys a chance to make plays." Riley said. It will be interesting to see how the quarterback responds this season.

Interesting Stat: Nebraska has won 29 straight season openers, the most of all FBS teams.

Mississippi State

The Bulldogs were one of the biggest surprises of college football last season, jumping from a middle of the road SEC team to legitimate title contender. That included five straight weeks in the middle of the season as the nation's top team. Fast forward to this season where the Dawgs return only 10 starters, losing several important members of its offense and defense. Given the wide turnover from a year ago, including the need to replace three of five starters along the offensive line and a starting tailback, the challenge for this season seems to be a steep one. But if Mississippi State is going to return to the top this season, it's going to take great efforts from several unknowns, including junior tailback Ashton Shumpert who is taking over as the starter. Thankfully for State, two of the four returning offensive starters are the Bulldogs' big play tandem in QB Dak Prescott and WR De Wilson. The most devastated single unit is the Dog's defensive line, where MSU must replace three starters. During SEC Media Days, Mississippi State was picked last in the tough SEC West.

Interesting Stat: Playing at home, MSU is a winning 32-28 ATS against conference opponents but only 8-17 ATS when playing non-conference teams.
