Obamacare was never set up to succeed, anyone with a clue can see that with reading it.

It was implemented to bust the private health care market, bankrupt, and put out of business the private insurers.
Then the government would come in and put everyone on government healthcare. No choice, no options.

So the government has control over you and your health, that goes hand in hand with more control of your money and life.

My Aetna insurance that I give my employees sent a notice of a 28% increase. I have been with them for 4 years now. Always a small increase, but 28%.....wtf. I had my office manager call and they claim it will be across the board due to "changes in the insurance industry". Needless to say I am shopping around. Something is awful fishy.

29.6% increase for me for 2017

the brilliance of fucking idiots

My insurance rates (self insured) have more than tripled since Obmacare passed. Now, I am sure some of the increase has to do with my increase in age (passed the 40 barrier) and some with just inflation in general...but I have used it only 1 time in the since I have had it (8+ years) and that was for an ER visit in Orlando when my BP was alarmingly high. The stress of having a full time job, running a business, kids in school, sports and other activities, and having an active social life will do that for a man.

Most democrats probably cannot relate. I mean, wtf? It TRIPLED.

The shit was a lie from the beginning, yet the liberal losers in here keep swallowing the Democratic goop hook, line and sinker...and why? What the fuck for? Because they think Republicans are evil?

They have to keep this propped up for a few more months so it undergoes its full collapse under Hillary. If it collapses in the next few months it could damage her election chances.

I think it'll go back to a more market based formula, it seems like most of the proposed reforms are going in that direction. They still tip-toe around the major issues though.

As long as the government or insurance is paying for most of the costs and people see healthcare as a human right rather than any other product, it is going to be tough for costs to go down that much. And I don't know if I see that changing anytime soon. Especially with demographic trends being what they are.

An MRI can cost like 5k, they take your leg and slide it under the machine for a few minutes. How can this cost more than a few hundred bucks?

I ask people I know in the industry about this all the time and they just shrug.

It cost more to use this thing for 5 mins than it does for 30 people to fly from Boston to NY.

It's all about approval PF. You have pain, so you go to your primary. Your primary recommends an MRI. Your ins co offers x-rays only at first. The x-rays show you need an MRI. Instead your ins co wants you to go to PT, even if you and your DR agree you're injuries are past that point. OK, so now you decide to play ball. But you can't go to the PT guy who worked wonders for your friend with a similar condition because he's not in your network. So you go to the other place, and the PT agravates your condition. So now you fight with your ins co until they agree to let you see a specialist. Who recommends an MRI. Now the doc suggests surgery. But the ins co doesn't want to pay for that. They want you to try needles first.

An on and on. How are they going to keep cost down without bankrupting the gov't?

For good measure my BP is a perfect 115/75. Don't take meds, don't need them. My gym schedule last week? Tues, Thur, Fri and Sat.

Good day but you are wrong again....gonna start calling you Wrong Way Vitterd.

Of course you have nothing to add about my insurance rates..why would you? You voted for the shit.

It is certainly a complex issue.

Politicians don't even try to pretend they know the answers with how to fix it anymore. 18 million people going to be on medicare in the next 10 years.

As long as 90% of the costs in healthcare are being paid by 3rd party I just don't think you do anything more than put a bandaid on the problems.

I will admit that Obamacare is dissappointing and not what I was hoping it would be as far as a financial burden on many. There are some parts of Obamacare I strongly agree with but what was presented and what has happened are not close.

Don't worry Willie, Hillie gonna cover everybody. She also gonna keep those nasty people at Big Pharma in line. I mean imagine the nerve of these people, spending millions on research to treat or cure the diseases that are killing so many of us, and then expecting to make a profit off of it!

I love that "it only cost 5 cents to manufacture the pill", ignoring the 2 billion dollars of research and 10 years of bureaucracy investors had to risk to get there

You don't want the new pill they just developed, don't take it

at the end of the day NOTHING IS FREE (or should be anyhow)
