wild, imo, the best assembler is frontpage, i guess you have microsoft office then you build you ownpages over there.. now, i learned html just by viewing the source on each page how they do some actions.. and copy and pasting it...
sometimes and most developers do,, they are looking for some specific action, you just remember what you read in the past,, ask in google, go in one page and copy and paste the code, and rewrite with the caracteristics you want.
the clue of a good page, is not the superlevel of programming it has... it is just how easy to navigate and the attractive colors it has... as for example this forum, what i like of this forum is how easy the reply and search buttons are displayed, instead of the php which is really good, but, for example the avatars doesn't have an specific width+height range...
anyways... frontpage has the caracteristics that work in the way of WYSIWYG = what you see is what you get.. but also you are able to view the source code if the case amerits, to redit trash source code...
also. if you have windows2000, it allows you to interact with databases, for example with access if you want to play around how the information is stored, and how to query the information and display it as you want...
also try to learn all as you can of color theory and arts,,, that helps a lot, you could also download a manual of being a webmaster in 21 days...
here is an example of one of my works:
