I'm an old timer and don't claim to know anywhere near all the facts... Not a liberal nor a conservative using whatever definitions make one fall in one category or the other. But, I know this woman was found guilty of a crime and that it had to do with getting her child into the college of her choice. Now, (forget Lebron James, if you can for a second, if you can) The only way I happened to read about this is because of news which was on Yahoo.. My question: Did she get to CHOOSE WHERE her 2 month sentence was to be? Maybe it's California law or something to do with how much her net wort may be...again I don't know. But the words : Justice is Blind; don't seem apply here.

sounds, as usual, it is about MONEY, not race! I mean Donte Stallworth comes to mind. Killed someone and didn't he only serve 30 days? OJ get off cause he is white or because he had $$$?

I don't even think she should go to jail? Paying someone to help their child get in school?

Unethical? OK

Criminal? furgetaboutit. It's life, and everyone throwing stones at her would have committed such crimes to varying degrees. How about if a friend helps your child get a job? Maybe even over more qualified candidates, is that a crime?

But it affects those that take the place of someone deserving. Not sure what I believe the punishment should be.....but I am not bothered by her going to jail. Of course minorities would bitch about it because she is white. But they have no problem doing the same with diversity hires. Both wrong. Just a matter of what we should do as a penalty here.

Rich people have been doing this for a long time.

What is different about this case???

Did she pay off the wrong people? Did she not pay off the university, was that the problem???

What good does it do for anyone to go to jail? It's called consequences for actions.

I'm pretty sure her and her husband are loaded. So hitting them where it hurts, probably won't hurt all that much. 2 months in prison is probably a much harsher sentence than a million dollar fine. Or whatever the dollar amount.

This.

Using money to corrupt the system is always bad wherever it occurs. And it also teaches sanctioning corruption to you kids. Not good.

I'd slap her ass with a 5 million dollar fine AND 364 days in jail
