I could be wrong; but thought that I did a download for Active X sometime ago. Now today I'm looking at a website and it says; that you don't have Active X, would you like to download? Probably I'll be branded a real olldie for sure, but does "Active X" come in more than one flavor?
Thanks

Is "Java" an Active X program?

I got a message on desktop that there was an upgrade to Java. Downloaded it; but Spybot came on and asked me if wanted to change my registry and allow it?

I've always disallowed it from being installed for that reason. I'm scared it'll give me a virus. You sayin it's safe to install?

To see the Live video of horse races on YouBet.com; it asks you do you want to allow Active X? (IE 7 is what I'm using , but it was the same for IE 6). I mean to watch the races you must allow it --so maybe there are many types of Active X?
