Too many points for this Clemson team to lay, I like what is going on with both of these teams right now but Clemson just isn't a team who runs away and beats teams by DD this year (average margins in conference: -3.0 for UMd and 1.9 for Clemson). Maryland matches up pretty well in that they are actually a pretty good rebounding team. If Len can stay out of foul trouble and brings the intensity he had against NC Clemson does not have an answer for him. The key as always for UMd will be to not let Stoglin be a black hole and for him to keep everyone involved. Clemson gets Milton Jennings back and though he's a high usage guy he doesn't shoot particularly well or smartly.
You could argue its a letdown spot for Maryland after a tough loss in a game there were fired up for in UNC and a trip to Durham on deck, but for a team like UMD who considers themselves a bubble team you can't afford to look past anyone. Turgeon has these guys believing right now; I love their intensity against NC on Saturday and they did not quit after going down 15 late against Miami on Wednesday. Clemson is always a handful @ Littlejohn but this is a young team that has had a tough time fitting into their roles consistently. I think UMd is a slightly better team in better form and even though the spot isn't great it's a lot of points for this resiliant Terp team in what figures to be a fairly low-tempo, tightly played game. I don't expect this one to be decided until the final posesssions..
