This country seems to be all over the map on this subject.
"Old school" Republicans like Goldwater who was pro- abortion seem to have gone the way of the dinosaurs.
I will say that both major US political parties are complete hypocrits on this subject Dems say that you can kill the kid but if you don't we will help you with the expenses. Repubs say you CAN'T do that but when you have your kid you are on your own and we aren't helping you.
One of the Republican views is "personal responsibility" not increasing taxes so screwups can get Food Stamps, Welfare and "suck the government tit" which I STRONGLY agree with. We cannot imagine if there had never been one abortion since 1973 in this country how many more people would need government help but it would be many million.
Now I know rolltide as a Goldwater fan will lean towards the pro side of this.
And the Republican party has won a LOT of elections the last 3-4 decades on this ONE subject.
Curious to hear the views of RXers on both sides of the aisle about this, fire away!

42.4 million babies were murdered worldwide during 2019.

16,975,377 million and counting babies have been murdered so far in 2020.

344,944 people have died worldwide with the coronavirus.

A women's right to choose my ass. Yeah, they can choose to have their baby
murdered but with corona, can't choose to leave their house.

When a baby can survive outside the womb on it's own, it's a person protected by constitutional rights

Hence, late term abortions should be banned

I'm prolife, but I understand we're trying to govern 360 million Americans, so early term abortions should be legal

I appreciate the sensible answer Willie, thanks.
I assume even though like me, he was before your time, you are a Goldwater fan?

Roe v Wade: Woman behind US abortion ruling was paid to recant
Source: https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-52733886

In her "deathbed confession", as she calls it, a visibly ailing McCorvey says she only became an anti-abortion activist because she was paid by evangelical groups.

"I was the big fish," she said. "I think it was a mutual thing. I took their money and they'd put me out in front of the cameras and tell me what to say.

"That's what I'd say. It was all an act. I did it well too. I am a good actress. Of course, I'm not acting now."

She added: "If a young woman wants to have an abortion, that's no skin off my ass. That's why they call it choice."

i'm the epitome of a Goldwater republican (hell he used to be my avatar) and I'm conflicted on the issue as he was. His daughter got an abortion and his wife was strong part of Planned Parenthood in Arizona but he personally did not believe in abortion and didn't become "pro-abortion" (as you put it) until his final term. That said, Planned Parenthood at the time his wife ran it and he supported it was not an abortion factory it was an education and planning facility. Even with that he was strongly conflicted on the subject and certainly didn't wave the abortion banner

I personally detest abortion but I understand people make mistakes they're not prepared for and late-term or post-term abortions absolutely should not happen. And the problem with setting a specific date, let's call it 16 weeks, is the pro-abortion side keep trying to push that number ahead as they're doing now. Anyone that can't decide b/w keeping baby, aborting, and adoption in 4 months has many more issues than the kid in their womb. When we start talking about 6+ months abortions or killing a baby that survived an abortion attempt at nearly full term then we're getting into murder. as with most things it's not a fed govt issue...allow states and municipalities to decide on their own. The sad part is that minorities are grossly overrepresented in abortions and nobody of color wishes to discuss this

the same baby killers yelling "my body my rights" are the Karen's screaming at you if you're not wearing a mask while taking a walk and that demand you get vaccines mixed with baby parts. typical hypocrits that scurry to the left side of the political aisle
