what did I say the last post? Don't remember..
Adding one of the later added lines:

LAL -1

As much as I'd love for the Lakers to lose another one.... I'm thinking Phil will actually coach them a bit for once, after the loss against Miami.

Sorry about the constant adding of one play at a time post bumping....:ohno:

I know, this seems too easy.... and I would think Minny is just about due to give their fans something to cheer for..but..

HOU -5.5

So thats right, I'm playing 7 games that are all favorites....

And I will take a break from doing my own separate plays, for a little while.

Just for the heck of it though, I'm trying a $10 overnight 6 team parlay just for kicks and giggles. Won't put this on my play record, but maybe a separate parlay record (that might never get a win though...)

Abnormality's Tuesday 12/23 random parlay :missingte

12/23/08 OklahomaCity(Thunder) +12
19:05 ET
12/23/08 Houston(Rockets) +7 *going against my heart*
19:05 ET
12/23/08 Washington(Wizards) +6.5
19:05 ET
12/23/08 NewOrleans(Hornets) -3
20:05 ET
12/23/08 Chicago(Bulls) +6.5
20:05 ET
12/23/08 Memphis(Grizzlies) +12
20:35 ET

These are probably not the best picks, since I'm not too confident on my judgment lately. So this will probably be useless spam to you all

Please don't mind that last parlay attempt :ohno:

I'm gonna be putting plays up again, though I will not be putting real money on them, for now. I'm gonna see if I learned some lessons, and choose them with a bit more studying then usual...will pay off with my picks from here on.

Oklahoma City +6½

This will be an ugly game. Both horrid teams. Both will lack confidence after blowing away leads and losing close games the previous night. Good teams can recover and bounce back from those kind of loses, but the truly bad teams just play worse after them. I'm taking the nice 6.5 cushion here, can't even imagine being on the other side of this bet.

Orlando -9

The Wolves and Al Jefferson exploded against the Knicks and David Lee.... Now they meet the Magic and Dwight Howard, a duo that actually plays defense. And this will be a b2b for Minnesota. Yeah they are at home this game, but do you really think that will spare them? Orlando now is just.... with Nelson exploding, and Pietrus back now, to defend the perimeter players... this is a team I can trust to cover some decent sized spreads.

Utah +9

Houston very likely will be playing without Artest. I do know Utah is even more shorthanded, quantity-wise. Houston is a potential elite team, yes, but only with Artest healthy. Houston's defense can look very average when he's not on the court. Should be a close game.

Detroit +5½

While Detroit is playing like crap, and the Bucks are still a bit underrated, I still suspect a bounce back game for the Pistons, nevertheless. I suspect! I will admit this my least favorite pick of mine for tonight!

solid season man...

Thanks dude. A compliment like that coming from a solid capper like you, should help with keeping my confidence up.

Adding:

NO -4.5

Almost was gonna add Cleveland and Boston....but I didn't. As of right now I am holding off on those two, but might add one or both of them later. As of right now they are no-plays.

Gonna stay away from making anymore personal picks for tonight. I imagine at least 2 of those games will end up close to the spread.... which means I'll stay away.

1-3 yesterday

Current record for plays
73-56-4

Damn, a lot of these lines got at least 1/2 point worse for me during my hour of time confirming them... Still gonna ride these with these as my choices for tonight. That's right 8 plays, this could go horribly wrong, but for some reason I see some value tonight, from my viewpoint:

Tuesday Plays

New York +4½

Atlanta +1

Cleveland -5½

Washington +14½

Memphis +3

Milwaukee +8

Sacramento -3

Boston -5

Ended up with a split on my huge ass card yesterday....

4-4 yesterday

Current record for plays
77-60-4 (don't like the look of this record right now, makes it seem I'm really getting all that closer to 50%)

Wednesday Plays

Orlando -5½

The Pistons were a team capable of stealing some games from some of the elite teams in the league. Losing to Detroit was disappointing for the Magic, but they should bounce back against the bulls with ease, who aren't much of giant killers, from what I've seen of them this year...

New Jersey +6

Pistons are playing great ball lately and they.......wait, we've seen this before. Seems the Pistons think they need to only play great ball when it's absolutely necessary. When every they go on a winning streak, they start to relax... and start playing uninspired ball. If I'm wrong, even as a Cavs fan, I'll give Detroit a very brief, standing ovation. For they might actually be solid basketball team that cares about winning once again :aktion033

And lets not forget New Jersey is a decent road team, and are better than they were against the Bulls last game....

Denver -2

I'll keep this brief. Yes, the Raptors have a great home crowd, even when their team gives them little to cheer about. The Raptors think they are due for a big home win. The Nuggets know they have to play better on the road lately, to be able to compete with the best. Could be a blowout

Friday Picks

IND +2.5

This is more of a hunch pick, as I just feel the Pacers are fired up to get a win that they have deserved for a while lately. Whether or not TJ Ford plays, I still think the Pacers can get a win at Madison Square Garden just fine, either way. They just seem due.

CHI +12.5

The Cavs shooting woes continue. I don't think they deserve spreads like this at the current moment, until they get their role players shooting lights out once again. Unless they find a way to get more points in the paint when LeBron doesn't have a open lane to drive, they will keep some of these easy games closer than they should. I wish the Cavs would play rookie PF J.J. Hickson some more, because that is exactly what they could use right now, which is an explosive inside scoring big man with serious strength and hops to go along with it.

Bulls aren't playing good, but look for Gordon, Rose, and Hughes to give the Cavs some fits... as backcourt D is still the Cavs slight weakpoint on defense.

ATL -4.5

Atlanta I think is building a bit of momentum, and should start to play better on the road as the season moves on. New Jersey is in a bit of a mess, their offense gets way too frustrated against good defenses, and it's seeming to be getting to their heads, and they end up forgetting even more about the other side of the floor. Until I start seeing signs of change for New Jersey, I think Atlanta will win the game, for sure.... along with having a very good chance of covering this moderate spread against this currently confused, New Jersey team.

DEN -8

Denver starting to get things back together.... Just don't see a real reason the Thunder can keep this close. Durant could play out of his mind, but even then, I think Carmelo can cancel him out with ease. Denver should continue to be a solid road team all year, and I think that starts with Billups, a pg who can lead and settle his team down on the road extremely well.

SAN -7.5

Losing to a team like the Bucks is nothing to be too ashamed of. Bucks can play at a high level at times, and they did so against the the Spurs. The Spurs still feel ashamed of it, and a team like Memphis, that they also had trouble finishing out down the stretch recently..... I think the timing just feels right, for the Spurs to wake up tonight. Taking out frustration, from both the Spurs game against the Bucks, and the Grizzlies double overtime slop fest. That's two solid reasons for the Spurs to come out blazing tonight at Memphis.

one more to add:

HOU -3.5

With or without Shane Battier, this is too disrespectful a line for Yao Ming, Artest, and even T-Mac at 50%, against the Raptors... Don't know what else to say, I just don't see the Raptors bouncing back from their loss against Denver, at this moment...

I just realized something that I haven't even noticed before with my capping style. It seems, at least, when I'm at my best especially, I've mostly only picked road teams to cover the spread on my games where I am most successful. The only home sides I can sometimes be good at getting right, are when very solid/elite teams are playing against medicore/bad teams at home.

When I look back at the days I capped very well, it really seems to be the case. Now that I have found this out, I'm not sure if I should just follow a rule of picking just road teams and maybe some elite home teams (if they are playing against a team that is medicore/crappy).....that I feel will cover the spread.

Well, after tonight, if I come out with a good day, I might keep that in mind from now on... since every team I'm picking tonight happens to be road teams. If anyone more experienced or whoever, wants to give an opinion or advice on this I'd appreciate it. I mean could it just be, that it just so happens that road teams have been covering the spread this season more than usual? Or am I on to something with what I might possibly be good at doing capping wise?

Of course, if I go 2-4 or worse tonight, this whole post will seem silly and pointless

Went 2-4 on Friday and lost the parlay, which makes me 0-2 on two 6 team parlays I have tried so far. Not gonna limit myself on certain plays, like I suggested the last post. It all must've just been a coincidence afterall.....
