I'm thinking new members here don't always know what the abbreviations mean that are used by posters so I've listed a few below. Anyone have any other ideas?

ATS = against the spread
TIA = thanks in advance
BOL = best of luck
GL = good luck

That's what TIA means. Learn something everyday.

DD = double digits
2H = second half

Hey QL, how long are you gone for? Will you be posting or too busy with work?

Have a good one

3-5 weeks. Then one week on vacation in Thailand and other countries to be named later. The 7pm games on the East Coast will start at 8am Singapore time so I hope to be able to get down some bets before and during work.

IMO = in my opinion
IMHO = in my humble opinion

I've never understood the use of these two on boards. Of course it's your opinion if you're posting it. Just another one of those internet things I don't get.

I think people use it when they don't want to come across as being a know-it-all. Kind of like Dennis Miller when he said after his monologue "that's what I think but I could be wrong".

Funny you'd reference Dennis Miller for the analogy, the ultimate know-it-all!

Seems like when I see IMO and IMHO used the poster is usually trying to cover up their own smugness by throwing them in there. Just the nature of boards, especially ones with such opinionated members as gamblers.
