I have a laptop that I use from home. Recently, in the past two days, when I start it up within minutes I get a "send error report" regarding LSASS.exe. Next a system window comes up saying the system will shut down in T minus 60 seconds. I looked on Microsoft.com and found this: Lsass.exe Quits Unexpectedly with Status Code -1073741819. They say this should only affect Windows 2000, but I am running XP home version and even with service pack 1A, I still have the problem.

Any suggestions... Anything?

Cheater,

Thanks my man, I figured it out yesterday after spending some time in Microsoft forums. Learned a couple of new things. shutdown -a in the command prompt aborts shutdown. Downloaded stinger and exterminated that worm faster than Muad’Dib on Arrakis.

thanks again.

Mass, I love your "Dune" reference.Which reminds me. I promised myself to re-read the entire Dune "trilogy".
