Record: 8-5-3....+5.01
Picked Paraguay perfectly.....Spain had chances for 2+ but no dice.

Futures:
Winner comes from South America -102...5 Units
Argentina Win Cup +412.....2 Unit

Very happy with my selections thus far.
I will be looking to hedge if the opp. presents itself.

I love games every day, great format.
The break is okay though.

To me Brazil +234 is the class of the show.
Spain +303
Arg +451
Germ +772
Dutch +800
Urg +1700
Ghana +4600
Para +5200

32 start and 4 of 5 South American teams are left in final 8
I am leaning all SA teams........SOS angle.

What you guyz like?? Why is always a plus.

I agree Brazil looks solid. I also like Spain, they seem to get stronger as the tourney progresses. Villa should be the MVP. If Torres finds his form, watch out.

Uruguay is another contender. They are good on both ends and i see them reaching at least the semi-final.

IMHO
I think you have to sit on it for now. Spain is a big fav to win the next one.
Following game will offer some hedges.
You can make a wager on Brazil if ya like it.

I think Germany has a good chance to advance next round and I think there is no way the Dutch can beat brazil.

seein a whole bunch of 'netherlands has no chance v. brazil' chatter...might as well just push them into the semi's w/o playing the game...i hope some guys realise this dutch team can really play fantastik futbol and at any moment can explode....i am in no ways saying brasil haven't earned the favorite roll, but if u think the dutch are gonna just roll over by the sight of the yellow and green...you are being misled...cheers

Coaster, I tailed you on that winner comes from South America last week when i saw you post it and found that Pinny was offering the exact line. Wouldn't it be nice to see Brazil vs Uruguay and Argentina vs Paraguay in the semi's and cash this ticket on July 7th !!! Anythings possible right?

But seriously, I do think that Uruguay wins on Friday and will face off against Brazil in one hell of a semi-final. I was really impressed with Uruguay's style of play.

I think Paraguay will play a conservative game against Spain and take the game to extra time where Spain will ultimately prevail.

Argentina and Germany for me is the hardest game to figure out. Maradonna's boyz are explosive. Tevez looks great and Messi has yet to make his mark. Germany is Germany and they will not let the game get away. I guess the question is, can Argentia defend as good as they can score.

What are your thoughts?

So much talk about Uruguay beating Ghana. I don't know guys, Ghana has clearly had the tougher road. Uruguay really has not played anyone as good as Germany, Serbia or even USA. We all know France was a shade of its old self, South Africa is not a great team, and South Korea was a bit of a surprise to get out of that group. Ghana plays good hard nosed defence and I really think they can take this game.

For me it's not so much about the WC opponents as q-school. Only 4 games played.

Ghana q-school: 6 games played.
Benin
Mali
Sudan

Claim to fame: Beat USA(weak division.....lucky to get thru in final game)

The SA teams are hardened against tough competiton.
Just to get in is amazing.
18 games against the best in the world, as the final 8 confirms.
These SA teams have been thru war and are hardened.

Just my angle on this.

You make a very good point about how tough it is to qualify in South America. However, looking at this tournament, it's hard not to like Ghana at +175 (or close to even money for +0.5) or better when you look at how they've performed. They have beat some impressive opponents, and might have even deserved to beat Germany in their final round robin game when the Germans needed the victory. Should be a great game to watch, GL Coaster.

Uru & Ghana are both solid defensively, but lacking on offense.
Ghana can't hit the side of a barn & Uru tend to go into a shell
after taking a lead. IMO the under 2 -117 appears to have value
by about 20 cents.

Some key Ghanaian players will not play tomorrow i.e. Jonathan on defense and Andre Ayew in the mid-field. Kevin Boateng and Gyah also have some sort of injuries

Believe the books have already built this into the line so take 'em as they are.
