Nice Job PATRIOT

You know what love is how many people think I lost my house on this game, gambling. I wagered a total of 650 bucks on this game. All the amatuers out here bashing our wallets because the Patriots did not cover. Philly was the money, but there was more to bet on, then just the game.

Anyways, we will have no one supporting this championship, the rest of the league and their wannabees are upset about this one.

NEW ENGLAND and BOSTON are WORLDS CHAMPIONS

and it will be a  for a LONG TIME

to all the NORTHEAST of the NFL

New England did play poorly, as did Philadelphia. Was not a classic game for the SB, most defintley

They did beat Indy, Pitt, and Philly to win the SB, so if they played like crap to win the SB, they did it by beating the 3 best contenders this NFL LEAGUE had to offer.

And NEW ENGLAND has set a precendent that the NEW YORK and Pennsylvania teams of the NORTHEAST could not set. In the last 18 years the Patriots have dominated the Northeast in FOOTBALL, and so I say to JETS and GIANTS, EAGLES, and the rest of the NFL

DO SOMETHING TO CHANGE IT!!!

JETS fans are the ones that I feel the worst for, and Giants fans as well. Bellichek did not want to coach for you

HE WANTED TO COACH THE PATRIOTS........and that is a good thing

So we still get to defend next year, and New England will accept a new champion with grace. But the mark in NFL HISTORY has been MADE.

As to the cover, once again a huge loss in the secondary during the game as Eugene Wilson goes down--unbelievable. I knew the Pats would score a minimum of 23, and the Eagles would at best get to the 20's--that's the only way they could cover and the injury to Wilson putting 4th round rookie Dexter Reid back there allowed the late TD. Owens, as expected, was a huge boost for Philly. Again, if these teams play 10 times, the Pats cover 9. This was 10....but hey, that's life in the big city.

But VICTORY is sweet.....with several potentially big contributors on IR this year coming back next year (Ben Watson, Gus Scott, etc.) plus another draft plus more veterans who sign on because they want a ring, the future is very bright for the Patriots--do I hear 4 out of 5?!!?!

Hey Lizard breath....I had the Pats -7,but please, don't cry for me Argentina...I cover my ass....which leads me to your first comment. Is there any potential for growth?I mean can Kordell Stewart be Tom Brady? You may want to aspire to be grow up to be like me but so dosen't a "weeping" willow tree want to be a redwood?...some things aren't acheivable grasshopper.

Grogs the minute Wilson went down I knew the cover and maybe the game was gone.Someone asked me if they really thought the Pats would cover before the game and I said to them if there wasn't any injuries on defense they would cover. But sh!t happens.Pats won with their B game.Eagles had their shot but couldn't get over the top.

and congrats on post 5,000. do you become a mod now?

Roxy its rather sad isn't it.....I think its time to get a life is what that means.Believe me I look at it as a reflection of a rather pathetic existence,And to think people have many more than I do...oh my god....but thanks for recognizing the excellence that is my Pats.I use to go to games when they were 2-14 and you could buy tickets on game day and sit anywhere you want. Now they are the champiuns of the sports world with class...remember "a winning Pat gathers no Randy Moss"

I had to razz you a little bit, Patriot. I'm glad you still came out ahead on the game. Nice call on Branch for MVP! And although I may never achieve your level of greatness, I will still aspire to someday have 5000 posts.

Heh! Patriot, you just made me laugh out loud, Dude, really! What's even funnier is that I don't have the internet at home, so I do all of my posting at work, on "the man's" time! If I reach 5000 posts, it will be because I don't get fired for being on the RX all the time instead of doing my work. I only have about 4200 posts to go!

It is amazing to me that the MORE is not MADE of, and maybe it is to COME,

That this team onl;y lost two games in the last 36, and set an NFL RECORD for CONSECUTIVE WINS, and maybe not an UNDEFEATED season,

BUT HOW MUCH CLOSER CAN YOU GET????? i MEAN 17 IN A ROW BY THE DOLPHINS SURELY IS RESPECTED....BUT OUT DATED. The BEARS, 49ers, Steelers, Cowboys, they did not have a win streak like this one

LETS GIVE SERIOUS CREDIT WHERE IT IS DUE!!!

HISTORY AND TIME PASSING, WILL BE THE REMEMBERANCE. If you have a son that is 6-7 now, when they are 25 they will be remembering this great run

The MEDIA is funny also, I remember closely following the Cowboys 3 of 4, and all the Media, and skip bayles type reporters said was

"They have a pro-bowler at every position, they should be a dynasty and win"

Today on ESPN2, skip bayless says of the Patriots

"They really do not have any hall of famers on this 3 super bowl championship team, not a many pro-bowlers than other dynasty's"

I tell you athletes make a lot of money, and they face constant criticism, but are sports reporters, really sports fans, or just Giraldo Rivera wannabees.

Thank God for Chris Berman, he does call like a sports fan

Newport read this to back up your argument.

Cleaning the cloudy lens of history

Cold, Hard Football Facts for the week of Feb. 3-9, 2005
Who’s better: The Cowboys of the 1990s or the Patriots of the 21st century? That’s the debate of the day following New England’s 24-21 victory over Philadelphia in Super Bowl XXXIX. It may a debate for the ages. After all, Dallas and New England are the only two teams to win three Super Bowls in four years. Of course, as they always do, the Cold, Hard Football Facts provide the final word on the big pigskin issues of our time.
