I did a little research this week and looked up how teams that started their season 0-4 SU fared in week 5. My logic states that a team that has not won a game yet and is heading into their fifth week of play probably has no defense to speak of and has allowed many points against. Last season we came upon this scenario three times, Cincy starting the season 0-4 SU faced Indy week 5 …game goes over the posted total of 43. Minnesota started their season 0-4 SU faced Detroit in week 5 …game goes over the posted total of 49. The Rams started the 2002 season 0-4 SU faced San Fran in week 5…. Game goes over the posted total of 41.5. Unfortunately this situation is available to us only once this week 5 year 2003. San Diego at Jacksonville, both teams are 0-4 SU, weak defense on both sides, there are no incentive for both teams not open it up and play. “Bombs away”.
