There are no boundaries or rules or norms when it comes to personal preference of music. To each his own , White guys listen to rap , Black guys listen to country , Asians listen to Polka , hispanics listen to opera , Indians listen to classical. Maybe these statements dispute the stereotypes we acknowledge as the accepted norm, but every sentence written has merit. Whose to say a certain race must listen or shun a certain style of music? NObody can , should or has any right to step on those rights of the individual. This isnt 1920 ...its the 21st century , and Musical preference defines the individual. It gives a person charactor and allows them to express themselves and/or relate to song , and expression of feeling. Like the late Bob Marley said , "One good thing about music , when it hits , you feel no pain , so hit me with music ,brutalize me with music ." I absolutely love that quote..its so real and honest. What other objects can you wish to be brutalized with ? Music , Love , Friendship , creativity ... those are good harms that wont hurt. Music defines our existence , wrather it be singing a catchy tune in the shower in the morning , or walking to a low paying gig at night , or a going/performing at a sold out show at the Garden .Or simply turning up the volume in your car to a song you like. Its different and unique for everybody and anybody is welcome to listen. So yes Kimchee , Dsethi is completly correct in saying what the hell are you talking about ? and what gives you the right to attack and classify a type of music ?.. that perhaps you dont like , but your statement is demeaning and offensive ... Its uncalled for ... its like saying , women dont like football. And while for the most part thats true ...I know my girl despises it to boot , But I also know friends of mine , married .. dating , with sisters or mothers ... who love the game. Who can trade stats and opinions with the men and watch a broadcast with passion and enthusiasm.For you to categorize hip hop music as a strictly black , or non white event..shows you have little or no appreciation or respect for your fellow collegues ...and a fragile and untrusting demeanor
