Identity - this is what I think if we do it. First me and you need to come up with the basic rules we want. Is it just games, halftime, quarters etc...? Limit on ML plays? Can we play -1200 favorites if we want or is their a limit? Parlays? Stuff like that. THEN we can try and get Spiro or someone from a reputable book involved. In fact without them I wouldn't do it. Not that I don't trust you but these things can turn ugly when there is money involved. I am fully expecting to lose the money if I am defeated and I am expecting to get the money if I win. Not worth the hassle and time to set everything up and then have a disagreement half way through and one of us want to quit. For that reason I will only do it if we allow a rep from Olympic to not only hold our money but fully control it. In other words if I go 0-7 I can't quit and ask for my money back. It would protect both of us. When we send our money we work it out so Olympic has full control of it from that point on.
You and I will need to talk about this in more detail but how does that sound? Something you want to do? We would have to take care of the book with some cash if we do it this way. Can't expect them to commit time and effort in this without being compensated. I have no problems with that and would suggest the winner pay the "juice" on this. Have it agreed upon up front the guy who wins will have the other man's money sent to them minus the fee for the book. Maybe once we set up the rules others on the forum will do it too since they see there is a pattern established and a means to do it without any risk. Could be a good thing and shut up a lot of people around here fighting with each other.
Anyway to rehash so far, I am pretty flexible on everything other than these three things. If you agree with this than it might be worth having exploratory talks:
-
We both must post up the money before we start. No exceptions here.
-
An agreement that the money is no longer ours once we send it. Olympic (or whomever) holds that money and awards it to the winner of the "contest". Any decision that comes up would be their call and we would both have to live with it. Not sure how we could enact this but this is crucial to me. I don't want to invest time and effort only to see someone ask for and recieve their money back halfway through. Maybe we can sign something that says we agree the money is no longer ours and is in the hands of Olympic.

We act as adults. I don't want to create a war over this. Sure I want to win but if I do I won't be rubbing it in your face and laughing about it. If I lose you earned it, good job. Life's too short to create undo stress and conflict over something like this, it should be FUN or not worth our time and effort.
We need to talk more often than we will this way of posting back and forth in the forum. We need to have a conversation to work out the details? Are you on MSN? If so add me, Patrick McIrish. We can get some of this worked out if you are still game. I'm pretty sure I can get a book involved even if not Spiro. It will be one that you will have the right to agree on or not. But first you and I need to have a basic agreement in place on the amount of games and what type of bets will be allowed. I knew the story of me blowing a 5 games lead with 6 picks to go would entice you.
