I like Neymar at 15-1. Interesting that Fred is not listed, even though he was tied for most goals in 2013 Confederations Cup.

Isn't Ronaldo the most obvious one among favourites? Prime of his career, gonna be top scorer for his nation and most important tourney of his life. Option #1,2,3 in his team, all set pieces. Don't need to be opponent of his own teammates on the field, or in the odds (as guys from Argentina). Both him and Suarez don't play on packed teams (in terms of # of possible goalscorers), and you want to take guys like that, or guys that will play on teams that will score a lot of goals. Don't like Suarez chances though, he's got probable lowscoring game vs Italy's and bunch of guys who know him vs England. Both Portugal and Uruguay got good projected opponents in first playoff round, but if Portugal will finish 2nd, they got much harder bracket. If they happen to finish first, it will be the easiest possible ride to 1/2 (with France in 1/4). It's group H and group E opponents, weakest ones in the tourney, and they have shot at first place in the group. Uruguay may not qualify at all, and if the do, they don't have easy bracket options. Need upset of Spain in group, or it will be 1/4 vs Brazil/Spain for them. So Ronaldo is the best choice for me. Other than him, it must be a guy on certain 1/2 finisher, top goalscoarers are always on those teams. With exception of dark horses, it's imo Brazil (easy group+playoffs), Spain (has a good road to 1/2 if first in group), Germany+Argentina (has tough roads, with possible problems in 1/4, but most talanted). Spain and Argentina are too packed, one has tough group, the other will probably has opponents playing very carefully. Brazil is better equipped than Arg. to score insane amount of goals (both got easy road to 1/4) and Brazil can have the easiest 1/4 opponent. Germany in tough position, but their style of play will present a good opportunity. 0 to 90 offence, 36 goals in qualification. Last time they unload 3+ goals 4 of 7 games. Don't know the lineups/starters yet, but I think it should be:
Ronaldo+Brazilians+Germans as a safe bet, and all the value dogs should be analyzed deeper.
