I know this is an old thread but it's funny that it got bumped cause I was thinking about this today. In 2014 I stayed sober the entire year, which allowed me to pay off 5 figures of debt (old medical, divorce, tax, credit card debt).
Got completely out of the hole last year. I don't owe anyone in the world a dime.
