Here are my plays for Day 8:

Large- Germany/Serbia TOTAL Over 2 -178 (Pinnacle)
Large- Germany -1 +110 (5 Dimes)
Large- England -2 +157 (Pinnacle)
Small- Slovenia +300 (Pinnacle)

Serbia has a stingy defence and I could see the squad sitting back and giving the German attack fits. Germany should take this game, but don't expect a blowout as the scoreline will be much closer and it won't be a shooting gallery either.

Capello will be starting Barry at the centre of midfield, so expect to see Gerrard move up on the second line of attack behind Heskey and Rooney. This formation for England was a success during qualification and Capello knows that his squad needs to start getting it rolling.

Slovenia at +300 is my lottery play. Slovenia is very much in the thick of things to go through to the second round after a win over Algeria. What I don't like about the US is that they were spoon fed in the qualifications of breezing by, while Slovenia battled hard to get to the World Cup. The Yanks were not playing inspiring football against England in the opening match up and I'm going to expect arrogance from the Yanks to lose focus mentally that Slovenia is a pushover. As well, Tim Howard will be playing injured. His ribs are pretty banged up, so if the Slovenians are taking corners or down the flanks whipping crosses, Howard better get a heap of support from his defence to clear the ball, or Howard is in for a long day trying to take the pain.
