Bigdaddy that stat is interesting, but it will probably go the other way this year.

I get what people are saying and the point is very valid. I'm just saying that teams without a QB like UT and UK will not even come close to beating UF because they will not score against that defense.

Kentucky will be lucky to score 10pts, let down game for UF or not. I'd factor that into any capping for that contest. They also lost their one of best DL players in Jarmon. Let's also not forget UK lost to UF by 58pts last year. 2 years ago in Lexington, UK had their best team in a generation, beat #1 LSU, and still lost to UF who had their worst defense in 20 years.

Just saying...

Obviously you think that Florida is the greatest thing to happen to college football. They are not. Florida is -16 against Georgia. They have only been favored by more once in the past 10 years, when they were -19 in 2001. They did not cover. Florida is -27 against Tennessee. The last time Florida was anywheres near that line was in 2001. They were -19 1/2 then. The game was at Florida. Tennessee beat them straight up.

Now I am not saying that Florida will not win, or cover either of those games, but before you go wagering the house and kids, you had better consider what has happened in the past, and the fact that Florida will be the biggest target in the NCAA. It does not help that Urban Meyer is kind of an ass. I am on record as predicting that Florida DOES NOT win the NC this year. I like Texas.

I don't wager. That's why I said I liked 2006 when Florida won but never covered. Those days are long gone. They will correct the lines, but not enough at times still and I'm also talking about OU too. Texas will be similar but will be a step behind the 2.

I also told everyone I know that OU and Florida would play for the title and that Florida would win this year. I said this at the end of the 2007 season. That's how much I know about OU and Florida. I know allot about these guys and there even better this year. So the only thing stopping this rematch is Texas, but I think a healthy OU team handles business here this time though. One thing you should note about Meyer is he will cover that spread when possible. He does it for all the alumni and faithful. He really does. If you haven't noticed yet. You obviously don't watch Florida games.

Tony....I hope you are taking heed on what these other posters are telling you. Like I've said many times on here, and will probably state many more times to posters just showing up, you very seldom get duplicate seasons in college football in which a team beats the spread (8 wins or more ATS) two years in a row. On average, you'll get about one repeater a season. And this is out of 120 teams.. Things change drastically in college football from year to year, even when it looks like it's going to be business as usual for a particualr team. Florida has two things working against them this season. The lines won't be as favorable for them this year. They never are for the number one team. And the teams around them will change. And many on their schedule will be better. Personally, I thought that overall the SEC was down last season. Especially since many of the teams were breaking in new QB's and dealing with coaches that were on their way out the door (Fulmer, Tuberville, Croom). And coaches that were in only their first or second year (Petrino, Nutt, Saban). These coaches will be much better intrenched this season, and expectations for them will be higher. I see the SEC overall as being a stronger conference this year, which will not only make it harder for Florida to cover ATS, but also harder to win SU. I still think the Gators have a good chance to win their conference and make it to the BCS title game. But winning and covering are two different animals. In 2007 national champs LSU were only 3-8-1 ATS. Mainly because they were preseason number 1 and expectations were huge for that team. I see a lot of similarities with the Gators this season.

I know what your saying. All I'm saying is OU and Florida are going to kill teams and I hope Somehow the lines do balance things out this year. All I'm saying is these 2 teams are 2 of the best teams ever on a college field. I will be happy if Florida and OU only go 8-4 7-5. 6-6 or less would be a gift. All I was trying to say is these teams are damn good and I hope the spreads are high enough to stop them from giving away money every Saturday. These team will kick ass and have there rematch With or without an ATS. That was the main point I was saying.

Also LSU was more of a Defensive team that ran an NFL style Offense and won more with size and power. With some spead too. Florida is way better than that team too on both sides and way faster. Plus what really sets these 2 teams off in the long run is Stoops and Meyer's which are in my opinion the 2 best in college. I dont think Miles is anywhere near these guys. Infact he had alot of breaks to get there in 07 and then he also got to play Ohio st. People like Saban come to mind when I think of any coaches near these 2.

Hey i gotta say much respect to the Sooners, but your nuts. Florida and OU are going right back to the NC game again. They will both probally be undefeated going in too. thats just how its going to be. Ill put money on it too.

I'll put however much you want that Florida and Oklahoma will NOT being playing again this year for the Nat'l title...

I am even confident that NEITHER team will play in the game as well...

I agree Florida is loaded. Unreal is the word. I think Texas and OU game will be the game of the year. 2 vs 3. Playing for it all basically. Ohio st may go undefeated, but undefeated Florida, OU, or Texas team go way ahead of big shit champ. hopefully someone in the conference can upset them. cause if they do make it, Florida, OU, or Texas will be waiting to kill them.

There's a good chance they wont. Because of injuries, suspensions, and a 13 game season, but most likely they will. Expect Florida to cruse 13 - 0. OU will have more work cut out for them. That work starts in Dallas. I think Florida is a dead lock though. OU not so much...

When was the last time that two undefeated teams played for the NC? I believe it was the 2005 season, when both Texas and USC went undefeated. That was 3 seasons ago, and since then, we have had a team that has lost 2 games win the mythical NC. Last year, we had an undefeated team that was not allowed to play in the NC game, and 7 teams with 1 loss before in the regular season. I think the trend is there, and there are not two teams good enough to run the table and play each other. Florida has won two out of the last 3 NC's, but has lost 6 games in that period. Ohio State has also lost 6 games in that period. OU and Texas have lost 7, and USC is the team with the best record, having lost only 5 games. That is how close things have become in college football. Look at Florida's schedule. As easy as it was last year, they still lost a game, at home, to a team that was 3-4 at one point in their season. Do not be suprised if we have another 5-6 teams with 1 loss in the NC picture again this year.
