"Afterwards, Harrah’s president Tom Jenkins announced that the venue for the 2005 WSOP will be moved to the Rio, another Harrah property off the Las Vegas strip."

Maybe this is old news but it looks like that with the growth of the number of players for the event that they had to move it from Binion's. Kind of sad to see tradition go out the window but oh well. I played in the RX tourney last year at Binion's Horseshoe and while it is an old joint it was really nice playing right next to the wall of fame. It had an old Vegas vibe. Anyone who plays at the Rio can chime in on what they think things will be like. I am sure it is nice if they are moving it there.

Well its the end of an era. When I take first timers to Las Vegas I like to go to the Horseshoe and the Golden Gate as historical monuments. If the GG was in Canada I'm sure we'd make it a listed historical building.

Now that's an excellent idea!
