I think the reason I did not find it racist is I am not white (if anyone has met me at the bash they can confirm and know I am mixed) I have experienced REAL racism, things said 100x worse and to my face, physical altercations on more than on one occasion. I am not one to ever play the race card but when it is the real cause of an issue then it is what it is.... What this old man said to his gf hardly bothers anyone who has experienced real hate

Thank you.

Are you the guy that groans about the black entertainement channel by saying there is no white entertainment channel. Clearly, there is a major difference if same thing is said by a black person. If you don't understand why it doesn't equate....then you just don't understand what's been going on in this world the last 100 years.

He's the guy that says a lot of bull shit and actually believes it. For some reason they always coincide with far right fringe thoughts. Let's just say Sheriff Joe agrees with him a lot.

With his legal team and owner rights, see no way they can force him to sell.

Easy, he signed a document created by the nba. Wether it was at the time of purchase or later he signed it. All the majority owners vote, if there is a 75% against him, he must sell the team. I explained to one of my employees who doesn't follow sports as to buying a condo. It's your condo but you must still follow all the condo associate rules.

He should sue the NBA. At least go out with a bang. He is an old harsh man, that has more money than he could dream of spending.......what else does he have to do with his time......

This whole thing was a disgusting witch hunt that reflects a lot worse on those of you in the howling mob then it does on Sterling....... having said that...... it seems like the NBA did not have much choice to act from a business perspective given the way this thing was playing out. A business does not usually have much financial interest in standing up to the demands of the mob.

The hypocrisy of all of this is just stunning however. I am truly disgusted but what our society has become.

It's business man. When you represent an organization, you are held to a different standard. Like a church leader cheating, a CEO getting arrested for drinking and driving. This happens all over the country at the local level. Just imagine how much more it is amplified at the national/global level. His comments are just something that the NBA can't move on from. This was the only thing they can do to protect their brand, because he comments were very very bad for someone who is an owner of a predominantly black league.

huh? what the heck does that have to with this story? geez

you sound like someone that listens to media and how they tell you things should be. As if people living today are somehow supposed to pay for the injustices of the past. I never discriminate on race. Never have never will. I have more friends that aren't white even though I am. Sounds like you agree with affirmative action which to me, and millions of others, is racism.

I thought the NBA's response was very appropriate, anything less wouldn't have been enough. Just goes to show that free market solutions work far better than statist solutions. Had the state stepped in and did this or fined him, I'd be firmly against it, but the NBA has every right to protect their brand. Some here may be against it, but social, and free market consequences are impossible to ignore. Doing nothing, or little, would not only be detrimental the Clippers brand, but detrimental to the entire league. If a McDonald's franchise owner had come under the same circumstances, we'd probably see the same results, or they'd watch their profits plummet. You can't regulate stupidity, but that doesn't mean being stupid wont have social, and free market consequences.

Why would a black person say this??

if a black person said word for word what he said, I disagree, there would outrage and penalties.

It's a slave owner mentality. I would have been broken to know that is how I'm viewed.

I'll wear a name tag that says my job is SLAVE for a $1M house, $200k car, and basically VIP status every where that you go. Hell for a Christmas Bonus, I'll even answer by "Yes, Masta!" :)

If he was Black and said the same thing about whites, nothing would happen. Not condoning what he said, just telling it like it is.

What do you mean not condoning what he said. You said yesterday it wasn't racist, remember?

What is so bad about it if it isn't racist?
