1st year joining a fantasy baseball league; I don't even watch much of the bases. Pretty much joined because I was asked; not big money just shit talking rights between friends. 8 team league and I had the 5th pick (Reyes):

C: Joe Mauer
1B: Justin Morneau
2B: Brian Roberts
3B: Chipper Jones
SS: Jose Reyes
OF: Alfonso Soriano
OF: Carl Crawford
OF: Ichiro Suzuki
Util: Carlos Guillen

SP: Roy Oswalt
SP: Aaron Harang
RP: J.J. Putz
RP: Bobby Jenks
P: Francisco Liriano
P: Chad Cordero
P: A.J. Burnett

Bench: Nick Swisher
Miguel Tejada
Orlando Cabrera
Carlos Delgado
Jeremy Bonderman

Any advice on who to start/sit would be appreciated as well.

Thanks.

You have a VERY nice team--but with only 8 guys in the league-I am sure others do too.
You have ALOT of speed-but I would drop Delgaod and pick up another stater.
Tell us how your league us scored and who are the pitchers available and I will help out.
GL-have fun

Not bad but you do have some injury risks on there. Like wannabe whale said, drop Delgado and pick up another starter. If everyone stays healthy though, you should be near the top.

I appreciate the feedback guys; why are you both down on Delgado? Injury issues or simply not a very good player?

The league is head-to-head, each matchup lasts one week. 1 point awarded for the weekly winner in each category: R, HR, SB, RBI, AVG, W, SV, K, ERA, & WHIP

This is all new to me so I am kind of learning on the fly, any more ideas/help is always appreciated.

Thanks.

wannabe: there are a ton of pitchers available; the five at the top of the list are:

Tim Hudson
Rich Harden
Jeff Francis
Mark Buehrle
Dontrelle Willis

If you think any of them are worth swapping for Delgado LMK.

Well definitely drop Delgado for Hudson. If it were me, I'd probably drop Swisher and take a chance on Rich Harden seeing how incredible he threw against the Bo Sox.

I'm currently in last place but my team is performing well, just running into buzzsaws every week, haven't caught a break yet.

I picked up Cliff Lee & Adam Wainright, both have been pitching very well for me. I also picked up McLouth from Pitt. who is having a great start. The only thing that's killing me is the goddamn Reds giving Harang like an average of 1 run/start.

I think things are going to turn around soon for me, I have a big lead this week and hopefully I can hang on, being in last place sucks ballsack!! Plenty of time left though, I ain't sweating anything yet.

Sometimes fantasy is not kind. Sometimes your hitters have bad weeks in the same week--it gets frustrating--but it is fun.
How did you get Lee and Wainright as FA??

I don't know, they were just there. I picked both of them up about 2 weeks ago. Most of the people in the league don't follow the game, or the league for that matter, that closely.
