I agree the book did keep you reading...but informative?...the main insight the book gave is that complicted and coveted software programs are the only way to beat the bookies.
It should have also showed you why it is that lines move by several points in a short time. I know some guys who think that it is because they bet $1,000 on a play. Shit, $1,000 doesn't move a line. It's the bets where guys are betting $25,000 to $100,000 at a time.
It confirmed the fact that I have always known . . . . . I am nothing more than a recreational gambler. And, it's likely that I will never BE more than a recreational gambler. I get nervous enough whenever I lay a $250 bet on a play. I couldn't imagine ever laying a $50,000 to $100,000 bet on a play.
