Better than PJ Walker and Darnold probably

I think it could make them frisky down the stretch, they were getting so little out of QB

Jets were right to cut bait and move on from Darnold. It wasn't just Adam Gase and Jets lackluster org. now we know for sure.

Kind of impossible for it not be an upgrade
Actually we know what Newton is and they are going nowhere with him
I would rather take a chance on a QB who is unknown even if it is unlikely he is going to be good.
I will take the unknown over the known which leads to nothing worth a damn

Sounds nice in theory but it is week 10, there is no one in the world available that you would reasonably want to take a chance on. It isn't 1999 and you're gonna find the next Warner.

You got veterans on the team on both sides of the ball, their D has played pretty well this year, good RB/WR with CMC/Moore, to just bring in some unknown or go with PJ Walker and punt the season is a little tougher than it sounds. They're a half game out of a playoff spot.

NE did same thing with Cam last year, obviously knew he wasn't gonna be the guy at that point and got a QB first chance they could but week 10 it is tough to sit a serviceable veteran for a random unknown when you got guys on the team trying to develop, proud veterans, trying to establish winning culture. It isn't a video game simulation.

Unless they could have coaxed Phil out of retirement this is the best stort term move they could have made.

Cam has leadership/swagger too, could see him starting hot before he fades.
This ^

At what point this season do people think he’ll be in “football shape”? Teams obviously know he can’t catch up physically, his body will cooperate for a short time then give out.

And let’s not forget how bad he was last year. Good thing for Carolina is their system will fit him far better than the Patriots did.

I just want Carolina Kid to chime in with his thoughts on this move. We all know Cam is his favorite player of all time. ?

Rivers? No way he'd come out of retirement unless it was a playoff team and a shot at the SB

There is absolutely no reason one could say this was a dumb move .

Panthers probably had the worst production from the QB position in the entire NFL till this point .

The Carolina Panthers are currently paying Cam Newton’s replacement, Cam Newton’s replacement’s replacement, and for Cam Newton to replace his replacement’s replacement.
