Why are emoji's messed up?

Ever since outage last week looks like most emoji's messed up.

All I see is text squirrel: and cocktail: and not the emojis.
Added-‐-THAT SHOULD BE : fryinpan


Tried my android phone, android tablet, and Chrome laptop. All the same. Other sites no problem.
In my 1st post the mad emoji is :mad and the second frown face is OK.
