Here in Las Vegas, the Raiders introduced the new braintrust...General Manager Tom Telesco who is fresh off being fired by the Chargers after 10 years of not winning anything and he was introduced by the new coach, Antonio Pierce who has never been a coach before. Ironically, Telesco and the Chargers incompetent former coach were both fired after being anally violated by the Raiders to the tune of 63-21 in December.
Pierce had the strong backing of the players who each independently praised his willingness to let the players be themselves...discipline, organization, responsibility and structure are not part of the Raider motto so Henry Ruggs may eventually make a comeback here. The Raiders when 5-4 after he took over beating four back-up quarterbacks. "Just Win Baby" as long as the other team is decimated by injury.
Meanwhile in the division, the Chargers introduce a Super Bowl, CFB championship coach, the Chiefs are preparing for the AFC championship game and rumor has it the Broncos will unload Russell Wilson to the Raiders which automatically makes Denver much, much better. Las Vegas falls into the category of teams who just don't worry that much about being successful.

Don't know about Pierce's coaching style and if it is sustainable. But...

He went 5-4 with a failing team. Went 3-1 in the Division, including a split with Kansas City. And went 7-1-1 ATS. That's a sign of an undervalued, overachieving team.

The new GM? Don't think I'd be too enamored of anything with LA Charger pedigree. But that coach they fired coulda made the 2007 Patriots into a .500 team. Maybe the GM isn't so bad. There are some very good players on that team.
